Edgbaston, and getting to it

Driving is the harder option. On-site car parking at Edgbaston is limited and sold in advance, residents' parking schemes cover much of the surrounding Edgbaston and Balsall Heath streets on match days, and a 22:00 finish under floodlights puts you into the middle of a Friday night city-centre road network. Park and ride from a station further out on the Cross-City line is the standard advice from locals.

The ends at Edgbaston are the Pavilion End and the City End, and the ground is one of the more comfortable big venues for an evening fixture — plenty of covered seating, good sightlines from the newer stands, and enough food outlets that queues move. This was one of only three fixtures at the tournament shown genuinely free-to-air in Britain. Sky held the UK rights and put England v Sri Lanka on Sky Mix, Sky One and the Sky Sports YouTube channel, in addition to streaming it free through the Sky Sports app without a subscription.
