Questions
About these records
Which team has won the most IPL titles?
Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings have 5 titles; Kolkata Knight Riders has 3 titles; Royal Challengers Bengaluru has 2 titles; Rajasthan Royals, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Gujarat Titans and Deccan Chargers have one title.
How many teams have played in the IPL?
Fifteen franchises have appeared since 2008. Ten compete currently; Deccan Chargers, Gujarat Lions, Kochi Tuskers Kerala, Pune Warriors and Rising Pune Supergiant no longer exist.
Why are Delhi Daredevils and Delhi Capitals counted as one team?
They are the same franchise under different names, as are Kings XI Punjab and Punjab Kings, and Royal Challengers Bangalore and Bengaluru. Their records are combined here. Deccan Chargers and Sunrisers Hyderabad are kept separate because they are genuinely different franchises.
Where do these IPL statistics come from?
Every figure on these pages is computed from a ball-by-ball record of all IPL matches — each delivery, its runs, extras and dismissal. Nothing is copied from another statistics provider.
