Royal Challengers Bengaluru vs Gujarat Titans: IPL H2H

Royal Challengers Bengaluru have won six of the ten matches against Gujarat Titans since Gujarat joined the IPL in 2022, and four of those six came in the 2026 season. The two met four times that year: once at Chinnaswamy, once at Ahmedabad, in Qualifier 1 at Dharamsala and in the final at Ahmedabad on 31 May. Bengaluru won three of the four, including both knockouts, and took a second consecutive title.
Qualifier 1 is the outlier of the whole fixture. Bengaluru made 254 for 5 at the HPCA Stadium and bowled Gujarat out for 162 in 19.3 overs — a 92-run margin in a fixture where nothing else has been decided by more than five wickets. Every other match in the ten has been won by the side batting second.
Before 2026 the fixture had produced no knockouts and no pattern: one win each in 2022, Gujarat's only meeting of 2023, both to Bengaluru in 2024, Gujarat's single win in 2025.

The Chinnaswamy game produced 411 runs and was decided with seven balls left. Six days later at Ahmedabad Bengaluru were bowled out for 155 and Gujarat chased it in 15.5 overs. Neither side has won more than two consecutive matches in the fixture, and no season before 2026 produced more than two meetings.

Nine of the ten results went to the team batting second. Gujarat have never defended a total against Bengaluru in four wins, and Bengaluru's single defence is the 254 in Qualifier 1 — a total large enough that the pattern was never going to hold.
That is not because the chases have been small. Bengaluru overhauled 206 at Chinnaswamy in 2026 with seven balls to spare and 201 at Ahmedabad in 2024 losing one wicket; Gujarat overhauled 198 at Chinnaswamy in 2023 with five balls left. Three of the ten matches involved a successful chase of 198 or more, which the IPL's highest successful chases page puts in league context.

Bengaluru have the better record at Gujarat's ground than Gujarat do at theirs, two wins from three at Ahmedabad against two from four at Chinnaswamy — and one of Bengaluru's two Ahmedabad wins was the 2026 final. The 2022 fixtures were staged at the Brabourne Stadium and the Wankhede, since that season was played across four Maharashtra grounds with neither side at home. Dharamsala's single appearance came as a neutral playoff venue in 2026.

Five innings have passed 200 in ten matches and the average first-innings total across the fixture is 182. Gujarat's highest is 205 for 3 at Chinnaswamy in 2026, and they lost that game. Their lowest is the 147 all out at the same ground in May 2024, when Bengaluru needed 13.4 overs to pass it, and their 162 all out in Qualifier 1 is next.

Four observations the tables leave out:
- Bengaluru have won every knockout in the fixture and Gujarat none, a record built entirely inside eight days in May 2026.
- Neither side has ever won a match in this fixture by a runs margin other than 92. Every other result was decided by wickets.
- Gujarat's four wins came at four different grounds: the Brabourne, Chinnaswamy twice and Ahmedabad. There is no venue they have twice beaten Bengaluru at except Chinnaswamy.
- The 2023 and 2025 seasons each produced a single meeting, both at Chinnaswamy, and Gujarat won both.

Sources and method
The ten scorelines, with dates, grounds, innings totals and margins, come from this site's IPL season match lists for 2022 to 2026, each confirmed against the ESPNcricinfo scorecard. The four 2026 meetings were checked individually, since two of them were knockouts and the page's headline finding rests on them.
Conventions. Gujarat Titans entered the IPL in 2022; the Gujarat Lions franchise of 2016 and 2017 was a separate entry and its matches against Bengaluru are not counted here. All ten meetings produced a result, with no tie, Super Over or abandonment. Batting order for the chasing table comes from each scorecard rather than from the order in which the sides appear in a summary line. Home allocation counts each side's principal ground, so both 2022 matches and the 2026 Qualifier 1 at Dharamsala sit outside either home column.
Individual aggregates across these ten matches specifically are not given. The underlying dataset records match results rather than ball-by-ball detail, so a fixture-only leading run scorer or wicket taker cannot be computed from it, and rather than estimate we have left it out and said why.
