Rajasthan Royals vs Gujarat Titans: IPL H2H Record

Gujarat Titans lead Rajasthan Royals 8-3 in eleven Indian Premier League matches, and three of those eleven were knockouts. Gujarat won all three: Qualifier 1 in 2022 at Eden Gardens, the final five days later in Ahmedabad, and Qualifier 2 in 2026. For a fixture only five seasons old, that is an unusual concentration of matches that mattered, and all of them have gone one way.
The 2022 final is the match that defines the fixture. Gujarat, in their first season, bowled Rajasthan out for 130 and chased 131 with eleven balls to spare. It was Rajasthan's second appearance in a final, fourteen years after their first, and their second defeat in a knockout to the same opponent inside a week.
The rest of the record is closer than 8-3 suggests, and getting closer. Rajasthan have won two of the last four, including a six-run defence of 210 in Ahmedabad in April 2026 and an eight-wicket chase of 210 in Jaipur in 2025 that took only fifteen and a half overs. Eight of the eleven have been played at just two grounds.

The 2022 final, and the week that preceded it
Rajasthan and Gujarat finished second and first in the 2022 league table and met in Qualifier 1 at Eden Gardens on 24 May. Rajasthan made 188 for 6, Jos Buttler scoring 89 from 55. Gujarat chased 189 with three balls to spare, David Miller making 68 not out from 38.
Five days later they met again in Ahmedabad for the 2022 final. Rajasthan were bowled out for 130 — Hardik Pandya took 3 for 17 in four overs, Rashid Khan and Sai Kishore two apiece — and Gujarat chased 131 with eleven balls unused. Pandya took the match award for the second time in the pairing in seven weeks.
Gujarat's third knockout win came in Qualifier 2 in May 2026, at the stadium in New Chandigarh: Rajasthan 214 for 6, Gujarat 219 for 3 in 18.4 overs, Shubman Gill making 104 from 53. That match is the highest-scoring in the fixture at 433 runs and the only one of the three knockouts in which Rajasthan set a total worth defending.
Jaipur has not been a fortress
Rajasthan have played Gujarat four times at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium and won once. The three defeats are unalike: nine wickets in 2023 after Rajasthan were bowled out for 118, three wickets off the last ball in 2024, and 77 runs in 2026.

The reverse is the more surprising line: Rajasthan have a 2-2 record at the Narendra Modi Stadium, where Gujarat have generally been very hard to beat, and both Rajasthan wins there were narrow — three wickets with four balls left in 2023, six runs in 2026. The 2023 win came after Gujarat had made 177 for 7 and Shimron Hetmyer hit 56 from 26 to finish the chase.
The single meeting at Eden Gardens was the 2022 Qualifier, and the single meeting at Navi Mumbai was the fixture's first, in the season the whole league was staged in Maharashtra.

Rashid Khan has played all eleven matches in the fixture, taken fifteen wickets at 7.45 and won the match award three times — in the nine-wicket win at Jaipur in 2023, the last-ball win there in 2024, and the 77-run win at the same ground in 2026. All three came in Jaipur, which is not a coincidence given how Rajasthan's batting has gone at their own ground against him.
Hardik Pandya has the tightest economy of any Gujarat bowler with more than four innings, at 6.55, and 3 for 17 in a final is the best of his contributions. Yuzvendra Chahal's six wickets are the most by any Rajasthan bowler in the fixture, which is a low figure for eleven matches and reflects how often Gujarat have batted through.
Neither side has produced a five-wicket haul. The best returns are Rashid's 4 for 33 in 2026 and Ravi Bishnoi's 4 for 41 in Ahmedabad the month before, which came in Rajasthan's six-run win and remains the only four-wicket haul by a Rajasthan bowler here.
Suryavanshi's 101 from 38
On 28 April 2025 Gujarat made 209 for 4 in Jaipur and lost by eight wickets with twenty-five balls to spare. Vaibhav Suryavanshi, in his first season in the competition, made 101 from 38 balls with seven fours and eleven sixes.
He has since played three more innings against Gujarat and made 163 more runs in them, including 96 from 47 in the 2026 Qualifier. Four innings, 264 runs, a strike rate above 220 and 22 sixes — more sixes than any other batter in the fixture, in a third of the innings the leaders have had.

Shubman Gill leads the fixture for runs by a wide margin and his 104 in the 2026 Qualifier is one of only two hundreds it has produced. He has three scores of 84 or more in the fixture, and 520 runs from ten innings is more than any two Rajasthan batters have managed between them.
Jos Buttler is an unusual entry because he has since played for Gujarat: his 198 runs in the table are for Rajasthan, and he has made a further 134 for Gujarat against them, with 50 from 26 in the Jaipur match Rajasthan won in 2025. Sanju Samson has scored his 271 at a strike rate of 163, and Dhruv Jurel's 138 from six innings has come at 172, the two fastest sustained returns by Rajasthan batters other than Suryavanshi's.
The pattern in eleven matches
Chasing has been the better half: seven of the eleven have gone to the side batting second, and Gujarat have won five of those seven. Rajasthan's two chases were a three-wicket win with four balls left and an eight-wicket win with twenty-five to spare; Gujarat's five include the nine-wicket walk at Jaipur in 2023 and a last-ball finish there the following year.
Rajasthan have been bowled out three times in the fixture and Gujarat none. Two of the three came in Jaipur, in 2023 and 2026, and at 118 and 152 they are the lowest and third-lowest completed totals in the record. Rashid Khan took the match award in both.
Scoring has climbed steeply. The first six meetings, up to April 2024, produced no total above 200. The five since have produced eight, and the last four have all contained a total of 204 or more.

All eleven Rajasthan Royals–Gujarat Titans matches from April 2022 to May 2026 were compiled from ball-by-ball scorecard data, with results, venues, margins, match awards and innings figures checked against ESPNcricinfo Statsguru and the official IPL archive. The record is complete to the end of the 2026 season.
Aggregates cover this fixture only and are attributed to the side a player represented at the time, which is why Jos Buttler appears in the batting table for Rajasthan with his Gujarat runs noted separately in the text. Wickets exclude run-outs. Strike rates and economy rates are rounded.
For the lowest-total column an innings qualifies only if the batting side was bowled out or used its full allocation. The three knockout matches are marked in the results table and are counted in all totals on this page, since the competition's own head-to-head records include them. The scoring comparison in the closing section is computed from the innings list rather than taken from a published summary.
