Delhi Capitals vs Gujarat Titans: IPL H2H Record

Gujarat Titans lead Delhi 5-3 in eight Indian Premier League meetings, and the fixture has been unusually decisive at both extremes. Three of the eight were decided by five runs or fewer, including a one-run finish in 2026. Another two were barely contests at all: a Delhi win completed in 8.5 overs and a Gujarat win by ten wickets.
The venue split runs backwards. Four of the eight have been played at Delhi's home ground and Gujarat have won three. Three have been played at Gujarat's home ground and Delhi have won two. Only one fixture has been staged anywhere else, in Pune in the 2022 season when the whole league was played in Maharashtra.
Nothing about the pairing has settled into a pattern yet. Delhi won both matches in 2024, Gujarat won both in 2025, and Gujarat took the only meeting of 2026 by a single run. In the five seasons since Gujarat entered the league, no side has won three in a row in this fixture.

Two hundred and five without loss
The most complete performance in the record came at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on 18 May 2025. Delhi made 199 for 3, KL Rahul scoring 112 from 65 balls — the highest individual innings in the fixture — and Gujarat chased 200 without losing a wicket, with six balls to spare.
B Sai Sudharsan made 108 from 61 and Shubman Gill 93 from 53. Their unbroken opening stand of 205 is the only completed innings in the pairing in which no wicket has fallen, and it is the only ten-wicket result either side has produced against the other.
Two hundreds in one match is rare at any level. Two hundreds in a fixture that had produced none at all in its first six meetings, with the losing centurion's side finishing on 199 for 3, is close to a freak result — and Delhi lost it without taking a single wicket.
Ahmedabad has been Delhi's better ground
Delhi have won two of the three at the Narendra Modi Stadium, which is more than they have managed at home against the same opponent.
The 2 May 2023 match there is the one worth pulling out. Delhi made 130 for 8, which should not have been enough, and defended it by five runs. Mohammed Shami had taken 4 for 11 in four overs to produce that total and was named player of the match for Gujarat in a side that lost, which is a rare enough combination to be worth stating plainly. Gujarat's 125 for 6 in reply, with Hardik Pandya making 59 from 53, is the second-lowest completed total in the record.
Delhi's other Ahmedabad win, on 17 April 2024, was the widest result of the eight in terms of balls remaining. Gujarat were bowled out for 89 in 17.3 overs — Mukesh Kumar 3 for 14 in two and a half overs — and Delhi chased 90 in 8.5 overs for the loss of four wickets. Rishabh Pant took the award; he took it again in Delhi a week later.

The only fixture outside those two grounds was the first, at the MCA Stadium in Pune in April 2022, where Gujarat made 171 for 6 and Lockie Ferguson took 4 for 28 to win it by fourteen.
Four runs, five runs, one run
Delhi's two closest wins and Gujarat's closest are the three tightest matches in the pairing, and all three were low-margin defences.
On 24 April 2024 Delhi made 224 for 4 in Delhi — Rishabh Pant 88 from 43, Axar Patel 66 from 43 — and Gujarat finished on 220 for 8. The aggregate of 444 is the highest in the record, and four runs is the second-narrowest margin. On 8 April 2026 the positions reversed: Gujarat made 210 for 4, Delhi finished on 209 for 8, and Rashid Khan's 3 for 17 took the award in a one-run win.
Between them sits the 2023 Ahmedabad match, which was the same kind of finish at half the scale. Three matches decided by a combined ten runs, in a fixture that has also produced a ten-wicket win and a six-wicket win with eleven overs to spare.

KL Rahul has played three innings in this fixture and made 232 runs in them, with scores of 112 and 92 in his last two. That is the highest per-innings return anyone has managed here by a distance, and it is worth setting against the fact that Delhi lost both of those matches.
Shubman Gill has batted in all eight and has three scores of seventy or more without reaching a hundred. B Sai Sudharsan has the higher aggregate from two fewer innings, and his two match awards are the most by any player in the fixture.
Jos Buttler has faced Delhi twice for Gujarat and made 149, including 97 from 54 in the seven-wicket chase at Ahmedabad in April 2025. Rishabh Pant has three innings in the fixture, in 2022 and 2024, and two of them won him the match award.

Mohammed Shami's nine wickets in three innings at 6.83 is the standout return of the fixture, and the sample is the frustrating part: he has bowled in only three of the eight matches. Rashid Khan matches him on wickets across eight innings, and his 3 for 17 in the one-run win of 2026 is the most valuable single spell in the record.
Delhi have no bowler above seven wickets. Kuldeep Yadav has played all eight matches for six wickets at 7.06, which is respectable containment in a fixture where seven innings have passed 199, and Mukesh Kumar's seven have come at a cost of more than ten an over.
Neither side has taken five in an innings. The three four-wicket hauls all belong to Gujarat: Shami's 4 for 11, Ferguson's 4 for 28 in the first meeting and Prasidh Krishna's 4 for 41 in 2025.
What eight matches show
The clearest thing is that the fixture has no home-ground pattern worth relying on, which is unusual. Gujarat's three wins in Delhi and Delhi's two in Ahmedabad account for five of the eight results, and the side batting first has won four and the side chasing four.
The second is that the scoring has separated into two groups rather than trending upwards. Four matches produced no innings above 171; the other four have produced eight innings above 199. There is nothing in between.
The third is a squad point. Both sides have turned over quickly: KL Rahul and Jos Buttler, two of the three fastest scorers in the batting table, have five innings in the fixture between them and every one of those came in 2025 or 2026.

All eight Delhi–Gujarat Titans matches from April 2022 to April 2026 were compiled from ball-by-ball scorecard data, with results, venues, margins, match awards and innings figures checked against ESPNcricinfo Statsguru and the official IPL archive. The record is complete to the end of the 2026 season.
Aggregates cover this fixture only and are attributed to the side a player represented at the time. Wickets exclude run-outs. Strike rates and economy rates are rounded. "Lowest completed total" counts only innings in which a side was bowled out or batted its full twenty overs, which is why Delhi's 92 for 4 in 8.5 overs does not appear as a low score.
Eight matches is a small sample and none of the rates on this page should be read as an indicator of anything beyond the fixture. The three-and-five grouping of scores in the closing section is a description of what has happened rather than a claim about what the two grounds will do next.
