Ten out of ten, then nothing
Guyana Amazon Warriors won every match of the 2019 group stage. No side had done it before; Trinbago Knight Riders would do it the following year. Guyana had by then lost four finals in six seasons, and a perfect group stage looked like the answer to that.
They won Qualifier 1 as well. Brandon King made 132 not out from 72 balls, Guyana made 218 for 3, Barbados Tridents replied with 188 for 8, and Guyana went to the final with a week's rest. Trinbago Knight Riders then beat St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in the Eliminator and lost Qualifier 2 to Barbados by twelve runs, which sent Barbados to Tarouba for a rematch.
A season rearranged twice
The tournament had been scheduled to start on 21 August and was moved to 4 September to keep clear of India's tour of the West Indies. Then in August the St Lucia Stars franchise was removed from the competition altogether. The league found a replacement quickly by reviving the St Lucia Zouks name and identity that the Stars had discarded two years earlier. The revived Zouks won three of ten.
American fixtures, a feature of the three previous seasons, were dropped; all thirty-four matches were played in six Caribbean territories.
Tarouba, 12 October
Barbados batted first in the final and made 171 for 6, Jonathan Carter taking the match award. Guyana were held to 144 for 9. The margin was twenty-seven runs and the tournament ended with the best team in the group stage losing the last match of the season for the fifth time in seven years.
Brandon King's 496 runs led the batting. Hayden Walsh Jr, a leg-spinner who took 22 wickets for the champions including 5 for 19, was named player of the tournament. It was Barbados Tridents' second title, five years after their first, and the last they would win under that name: they became the Barbados Royals in 2021.
